Craft Whiskey Wednesday Review #92 Manifest Whiskey Project Batch 3

Distillery: Sourced from MGP

Proof: 110.2

Age: Blend of 10 Year and 3 Year

Mashbill: Undisclosed

BACKGROUND: Manifest Distilling is a craft whiskey distillery in Jacksonville, FL. They launched in 2015 with inspiration from his Grandfather who built a successful entertainment business in Aruba and a chain of liquor stores in FL. They wanted to take a creative approach to distilling which can be seen in their spirits, bottles, and distillery. They have a full portfolio of spirits producing potato vodka, citrus vodka, new world style gin, barrel aged whiskey, and rye whiskey. This whiskey project is an annual special release featuring sourced whiskeys. The 1st release was a 10 year MGP bourbon, the 2nd release was a single malt, and this 3rd release is solera finished bourbon in a foeder cask.

NOSE: A bright nose with popping notes of cherry, citrus zest, caramel, honey, oak, and graham cracker. It’s well balanced, rich, and smooth (24/25)

PALATE: You’re greeted with a rich creaminess with notes of burnt brown sugar, charred oak, cinnamon, spicy rye, and sweet vanilla. It starts sweet but ends with tons of spice while maintaining a smoothness and boldness that is expected from cask strength whiskey (35/40)

FINISH: A long, rich, spicy and nutty finish dominated by rye spice, roasted pecans, oak, and tannins (23/25)

VALUE: Manifest’s Whiskey Project has a $65 SRP which is a great price (8/10)

Overall: 90/100

FINAL THOUGHTS: This limited release is an absolutely delicious whiskey that has rich and bold flavors, bold cask strength character, and a sweet, velvety smoothness. This is certainly a limited release you won’t want to miss. This whiskey just launched and you can get yourself a bottle on seelbachs.com or at the distillery.
