Distillery: Sourced from TN Distillery (Most Likely Dickel)
Proof: 92
Age: 5 Years
Mashbill: Undisclosed
BACKGROUND: Earlier this year NBA Legend Scottie Pippen teamed up with Dave Phinney to launch DIGITS bourbon. Pippen and Phinney leveraged Phinney's Savage & Cooke distillery to oversee the blending of the whiskey by Master Distiller Jordan Via. DIGITS bourbon is distilled in Tennessee which most likely means it was sourced from George Dickel. DIGITS bourbon is currently only available in Chicago, home of the Chicago Bulls where Scottie Pipped built his illustrious and legendary NBA career winning 6 NBA championships and 2 Olympic Gold Medals.
NOSE: Smooth scents of vanilla, caramel, and charred oak are the stars of the nose with hints of cinnamon and maple drifting in and out. The nose is incredibly smooth and sweet with some of the iconic Dickel char scents. (21/25)
PALATE: Like the nose, the whiskey is incredibly smooth with a pretty standard bourbon palate. Vanilla, baked rye bread, oak, and some floral notes make up the flavor profile on this whiskey. The whiskey has a lighter mouthfeel attributable to the proof. Overall, this whiskey is very smooth with a simple flavor profile. (32/40)
FINISH: The finish is short to medium in length with full notes of barrel char, burnt rye spice, and some pepper and goes down very smooth though. (21/25)
VALUE: DIGITS bourbon has a SRP of $70. (6/10)
Overall: 80/100
FINAL THOUGHTS: DIGITS Bourbon is a flavorful and smooth craft whiskey with a cool back story. It has many standard bourbon flavors and can be enjoyed by anyone. We recommend this to folks who are huge Chicago Bulls fans or like a smooth and sweet whiskey.
