BACKGROUND: 20 minutes outside of Louisville, Kentucky Starlight, Indiana is the home to the family owned Starlight Distillery. Running back 8 generations, currently run by father Ted & his two sons who have been making quite the name for themselves over the past few years. Known for their “sweet mash” technique, with barrels dry aged for a minimum of 2 years, up to 4. Named after the Grandfather of 6th generation co-owners Greg & Ted, the Huber’s felt it only fitting to title this signature blend after their 4th generation grandfather “Carl T” who had a love for bourbon.

NOSE: A very soft/light and standard bourbon whiskey nose with scents of vanilla, caramel, oak, and some slight rye spice (20/25)

PALATE: A very sweet flavor profile with notes of caramel, banana bread, vanilla, and oak sugars. The overall profile is very thin but sweet and balanced (33/40)

FINISH: Short in length with notes of oak and rye and some slight barrel char (20/25)

VALUE: With a $35 SRP you can't go wrong for a sweet and enjoyable whiskey (9/10)

Overall: 82/100

FINAL THOUGHTS: This is the perfect budget bourbon that can be enjoyed time and time again. An overall sweet whiskey with smooth flavors
