BACKGROUND: Three Chord is born and raised from music icon Neil Geraldo. Three Chord produces unique, small batch whiskey with a “perfectly tuned taste”. Strange Collaboration is a blend of bourbons finished in Pinot Noir barrels from the Strange Family Vineyards in CA. Strange collaboration is a tribute to Johnny Strange, a world record adventurer and climber who tragically passed away in 2015. All proceeds of Strange Collaboration are donated to Parkinson’s disease research, Johnny’s favorite cause
NOSE: A very light nose but you can tell it’s wine finished by the notes of dark berry and wine barrel. There are light traces of maple and tons of oak! Also a light ethanol burn (19/25)
PALATE: Super sweet up front with tons of cherry, jam, sweet honey, some oak builds at the tail end building to the finish. Very light feel but quite oily. Great dessert whiskey! (32/40)
FINISH: Tons of oak, rye spice but then right back to the sweet berry. (20/25)
VALUE: With an SRP of $45 this is a great value for a unique and tasty whiskey! Easy to sip on and perfectly priced (9/10)
Overall: 80/100
FINAL THOUGHTS: This is a great dessert whiskey that’s easy to drink, very light, and great for the winter time! If you like sweet whiskey then this is for you!
